Cardinals NT Alan Branch made the weight coaches prescribed for him on the first day of training camp.
He's at 332, his lowest since being drafted 33rd overall in 2007. Branch has been a bust to this point, though, and remains buried on the depth chart.

Bryan Robinson is expected to enter training camp as the Cardinals' starting nose tackle.
Arizona would prefer Gabe Watson or Alan Branch win the job, but Watson is dealing with ongoing knee woes and Branch is shaping up as a bust. Robinson, 35, started almost all last year, recording 20 tackles and a sack.

Cardinals coaches are concerned that NT Alan Branch is overweight and out of shape for the second straight offseason.
Coach Ken Whisenhunt has used a flickering light bulb analogy to describe the reserve tackle's progress in the past. "It's still a little bit like that, but I'm hopeful," Whisenhunt said. "I hope he understands the sense of urgency when we get to training camp."

Cardinals NT Alan Branch did not report for the first day of the team's offseason program Monday.
Branch may have been excused, but it's a problem if he wasn't. The 2007 second-round pick battled weight problems throughout last season after having "sporadic" offseason participation. Branch is currently a third-stringer.
