Ravens No. 2 QB Troy Smith was sacked three times in 12 drop-backs Monday night against the Jets.
Smith finished just 4-of-9 for 84 yards and an interception. Joe Flacco's backup has shown that he can move the offense, but he still has plenty of room for improvement. Dynasty leaguers shouldn't hold their breath on a future starting job.

No. 2 quarterback Troy Smith is taking frequent reps at wide receiver during Ravens training camp.
It's an interesting idea and Smith will be part of Baltimore's Wildcat package this year, but 6'0/215-pounders with 4.7 speed who aren't named Anquan Boldin don't play wideout full time. Smith will be a utility-type backup QB.

Coach John Harbaugh says the Ravens plan to use Troy Smith "in different places this year."
"He can split out and play receiver. He can play running back," Harbaugh said. Smith is athletic for a quarterback, but he's definitely not in a wideout or a tailback's class. He did throw two TDs out of the Wildcat last season.

Ravens agreed to terms with QB John Beck on a one-year contract.
Beck was dumped by the Dolphins, but landed on his feet with the man that drafted him - Cam Cameron. He threw two touchdowns in five games with Miami, but also allowed eight turnovers. He'll compete with Troy Smith for the backup job behind Joe Flacco, but is probably destined to be number three. Todd Bouman may get cut.
