Coach Brad Childress indicated that the Vikings will conduct an "in-depth study" of Adrian Peterson's fumbling issues to see if any mechanical changes can help.
Peterson, whose hands are notoriously strong, has reached the point where it almost has to be a mental issue as much as a mechanical one. Perhaps the Vikes can pick the brain of Tiki Barber, who was able to overcome his own serious fumbling problem as a veteran with the Giants.

 Adrian Peterson-RB - Vikings Jan. 24 - 11:23 pm et

Adrian Peterson ran for 122 yards and three touchdowns on 22 carries and caught two passes for 14 yards in the Vikings' season-ending NFC title game loss at the Superdome.
It was all or nothing for "All Day," who was credited with two fumbles but actually had three if you include a botched exchange with Brett Favre. A.P. was a game-breaker when he held onto the football and the Vikings' offensive line got push, hitting numerous big runs. Despite his take-no-prisoners running style, Peterson hasn't missed a game since his rookie year. His reduction in carries from 2008 to 2009, as well as increased usage in the passing game also bode well for his future fantasy value. He's right there with Chris Johnson for No. 1 overall pick status heading to the offseason.
 Adrian Peterson-RB - Vikings Jan. 17 - 4:25 pm et

Adrian Peterson ran 26 times for 63 yards and caught a 19-yard pass in the Vikings' Divisional Round win over Dallas.
The Cowboys were No. 5 against the run and didn't allow a 100-yard rusher all year, so it's not overly surprising that Peterson was bottled up. Still, the Vikings' offensive line created no holes and A.P. continues to lack patience when waiting for them to open. He should find more room at New Orleans.
 Chris Johnson-RB - Titans Jan. 14 - 10:28 am et

Chris Johnson was the only player unanimously voted to The Associated Press 2009 NFL All-Pro team.
49ers ILB Patrick Willis came closest to matching Johnson, with 49 out of 50 votes. Charles Woodson and Darrelle Revis each garnered 48 out of 50 votes at corner back. Adrian Peterson nailed the second running back spot while MVP Peyton Manning was voted in at quarterback.

 Adrian Peterson-RB - Vikings Jan. 7 - 10:47 pm et

Doubling his career-high in receptions, Adrian Peterson finished with 436 receiving yards in 2009 after posting just 125 yards last season.
The Vikes attempted 101 more passes with Brett Favre under center this season, which resulted in 49 fewer carries for Peterson. He more than made up for it with his improvement as a receiver, though PPR leaguers should note that the offense will shift back toward the run if/when Favre retires.

 Adrian Peterson-RB - Vikings Jan. 4 - 12:49 pm et

After getting not touching the ball at all on the first two series and ending up with just nine carries in Week 17, Adrian Peterson said he didn't think he was being punished for his fumbling issues.
It's ridiculous to think the Vikings would limit Peterson's carries at all. Coach Brad Childress said it was simply part of the game plan to throw in order to set up the run and then Peterson wasn't needed with a 31-0 halftime lead. Peterson will get his normal 20+ touches when the Vikings host a divisional playoff game in two weeks.
