Rams DT Adam Carriker (shoulder surgery) is on track to be ready when the offseason program kicks off in March.
Carriker missed all of 2009 after tearing a muscle in his right shoulder during the preseason. As an under-performing draft pick of the previous Rams regime, his 2010 role depends on how he shows to the coaching staff. Carriker isn't going to be cut, but he may be a reserve next season of the Rams draft Ndamukong Suh and pair him with NT Clifton Ryan up the gut.

Beat writer Jim Thomas does not think that Adam Carriker will be moved to defensive end next season.
The Rams look thin on paper at end for 2010, but Carriker doesn't rush the passer well enough to play outside in Steve Spagnuolo's (theoretically) pressure-heavy scheme. The coaching staff will probably ask Carriker to shed weight in the offseason to increase his penetration skills, but he'll stay inside.

Rams DT Adam Carriker, who is on injured reserve, will undergo surgery Wednesday to repair a torn muscle in his right shoulder.
Carriker's rehab time is about four months. It's his second shoulder operation in the last 20 months, but he should be good to go for next year's camp.

Rams DT Adam Carriker reportedly needs shoulder surgery and could miss the rest of the season.
Carriker made his preseason debut last night after dealing with an ankle sprain and promptly injured his shoulder. It's the same shoulder that required surgery in the 2008 offseason. Gary Gibson will continue to start, but Carriker was one of the Rams most talented defenders. It's a major blow to their defense.

Rams DT Adam Carriker (ankle) made his preseason debut Thursday night, but left in the second half with a shoulder injury.
Carriker still hasn't gotten his starting job back as Gary Gibson opened with the first unit. Carriker entered for the first defensive series of the second quarter. He'll eventually be the starter if he can stay healthy, but rumor is his shoulder injury could be serious.
