Coach Mike Singletary confirmed that Isaac Bruce has a diminishing role in the 49ers offense and won't start the rest of the season.
Michael Crabtree and Josh Morgan are the starters, and Jason Hill will likely continue to hold down No. 3 receiver duties. If you haven't already, it's time to drop the 37-year-old Bruce in all leagues.

Though Isaac Bruce was ostensibly deactivated Thursday night due to an ankle injury, the San Francisco Chronicle believes the decision had more to do with Jason Hill.
The Chronicle called it "the clearest indication yet that the 49ers are moving in a younger direction" at receiver. Expect Josh Morgan to continue starting, with Hill remaining in the slot for the rest of the season. Neither player has fantasy value for 2009.

49ers slot WR Jason Hill (probable, ankle) practiced fully Wednesday.
He will be active as San Francisco's third receiver on Thursday night.

49ers offensive coordinator Jimmy Raye said Jason Hill's playing time this week depends on how well Isaac Bruce recovers from his ankle injury.
Bruce's ankle should be fine for Thursday, but Hill is probably the Niners' better option anyway. Still, as the No. 3 or 4 receiver, Hill is not worth a whole lot in fantasy leagues.

Jason Hill (ankle) returned to 49ers practice in full on Tuesday.
Hill has taken over as San Francisco's slot receiver and scored twice in Week 9, but that could easily go down as the best game of 2009. Despite the Bears' secondary struggles of late, Hill isn't a fantasy option on Thursday night.

The 49ers did not hold a practice Monday, but released an "estimated" injury report based on players' level of participation had they practiced.
Frank Gore (eye) was listed as a full participant, while Jason Hill (ankle) and Vernon Davis (shoulder) would've been limited. Michael Robinson (stinger) would not have practiced. The team will have a real practice on Tuesday.
