Patrick Willis has bowed out of the Pro Bowl with a "slight" right knee injury.
Per beat writer Matt Barrows, Willis is dealing with swelling from bursitis. The Niners insist he would be "good to go" if it was a regular season game. Panthers LB Jon Beason, who should have been invited all along, is taking his place.

Panthers MLB on Beason set a franchise record with 169 tackles in 2009
Beason broke his own record, set as a rookie in 2007. He's already third in Panthers team history with 478 tackles. Beason was one of the most egregious Pro Bowl snubs at linebacker this season.

Aggravated assault charges against Panthers MLB Jon Beason were dismissed in a Mecklenburg County courtroom Friday.
Beason was accused of hitting a man and fracturing bones in his face during a strip-club confrontation in November. He was charged with a misdemeanor, but was never even arrested due to a lack of evidence. Beason is fifth in the league in tackles with 102, and also has two sacks and three interceptions.

The man accusing Jon Beason of aggravated assault in connection with a strip club incident filed a civil suit against Beason on Tuesday that alleges Carolina's middle linebacker hit him after doing cocaine.
Gregory C. Frye, who has a history of assault himself, claims he told Panthers TE Dante Rosario that he saw Beason "up at the lake doing coke with some girl." Beason allegedly confronted Frye after the accusation, and socked him so hard his naval cavity collapsed. "I think Mr. Frye is living in fantasyland if he thinks Jon Beason ever snorted cocaine," said Beason's attorney.

The attorney for Jon Beason says his client will plead not guilty to the aggravated assault charge he was arrested for Monday.
Beason is accused of "assault with the intent to inflect serious injury" stemming from a strip club incident. The man Beason allegedly punched had a crushed naval cavity and swelling in the eye. "(Jon) looks forward to his day in court and to getting his good name cleared," his attorney said. The victim has a history of assault, so Beason has a good shot to beat the case.

Panthers MLB Jon Beason was arrested Monday afternoon on an aggravated assault charge.
Beason was booked at 1:36PM. The charges reportedly stem from an incident that took place after the Panthers' Week 10 game against the Falcons. It's unclear if there's been a warrant out for Beason's arrest all along. Beason is alleged to have punched a man outside of a strip club. He's since been released from jail, but could face some punishment from the league.
