Jamaal Anderson, usually the Falcons' starting left defensive end, started Sunday's win at defensive tackle.
Perhaps this is where the 6'6/282-pound former No. 8 overall pick will settle in. Anderson finished with two tackles and two quarterback hurries. Kroy Biermann started at left end, and had two tackles with one Shaun Hill sack.

 Jamaal Anderson-DL - Falcons Aug. 3 - 5:12 pm et

Coach Mike Smith revealed Monday that the Falcons have opened their left end position to competition.
Jamaal Anderson is the incumbent, but has two sacks in 31 career games. His chief competition will be Chauncey Davis, who got a $14M extension this offseason. Longer shots are Kroy Biermann and rookie Lawrence Sidbury.

Falcons GM Thomas Dimitroff believes the "arrow is (pointing) up" on LE Jamaal Anderson despite a slow start to his career.
The No. 8 overall pick in 2007 has only two sacks through 31 career starts. Dimitroff pointed to Anderson's ability to play multiple positions on the line. Anderson clearly hasn't fulfilled his pass-rushing potential, but the Falcons are unlikely to move him out of the starting lineup yet.

 Jamaal Anderson-DL - Falcons Jan. 3 - 3:38 pm et

Falcons declared DE Jamaal Anderson, third QB D.J. Shockley, DB Glenn Sharpe, DB Eric Brock, LB Tony Gilbert, OT Wayne Gandy, C Alex Stepanovich, and OT Quinn Ojinnaka inactive for Saturday's playoff game.
In place of Anderson, Chauncey Davis will be Atlanta's early-down left end with rookie Kroy Biermann replacing him as a nickel rusher. The Falcons are otherwise mostly healthy. Lawyer Milloy will start at strong safety.

Falcons LE Jamaal Anderson (ankle) was held out of practice again Friday.
Anderson is listed as questionable to face Arizona in Saturday's Wild Card game. Atlanta has solid backups in Chauncey Davis and Kroy Biermann, so losing Anderson for one more game is unlikely to make a big difference.

 Jamaal Anderson-DL - Falcons Dec. 31 - 8:44 am et

Falcons DE Jamaal Anderson (ankle) missed practice Tuesday.
Anderson suffered a high ankle sprain in Week 16 and missed the Week 17 game. Reserves Chauncey Davis and rookie Kroy Biermann may have to fill in for one more week.
