49ers coach Mike Singletary essentially said that Jimmy Raye will be back as his offensive coordinator next season.
The 49ers are ranked No. 29 in offense. Raye has shown an ability to adapt to his players' skills and a shift to even more spread offense could be coming. "This offseason will be the first time ever that anybody on offense has a coordinator or has a consistently going into the offseason. Hopefully, next year will be a lot better," Singletary said.

49ers OC Jimmy Raye began tinkering with his version of the Wildcat offense on Wednesday, calling it the "Taser."
Receivers Michael Spurlock and Arnaz Battle took shotgun snaps in the formation and so will Michael Robinson when he returns from a groin injury. All are former college quarterbacks. The Niners don't expect to use it in their preseason opener on Friday against Denver.

The 49ers are already facing significant opposition to their proposed stadium plan in Santa Clara.
Santa Clara City Councilman Will Kennedy already sounds opposed to the move, despite popular opinion that the 49ers are going to build a $937 million stadium in Santa Clara, the site of the team’s headquarters. It will come to a citywide vote in March 2010 and passage will not be smooth.

The 49ers and the city of Santa Clara unveiled a plan for a new $937 million stadium Friday.
The proposal only requires half of the public money of the last proposal, roughly 12% of the stadium's cost. Taxpayers could vote on the plan as soon as next year. It's possible the Raiders will use the stadium in addition to the 49ers.

The 49ers have hired Jason Michael as the team's offensive assistant.
He was tight ends coach at the University of Tennessee last season under Philip Fulmer. Before that, Michael spent two seasons with the New York Jets in 2006-07, serving as quality control coach and assistant tight ends coach.
