Former 49ers OC Mike Martz told NBCSports' Tom Curran that he believes "people are determined to keep (him) out of the league."
"Three years of people putting it out there that I’m a high-maintenance lunatic," Martz said. "It becomes very hard to shake that tag." It's hard to argue that Martz hasn't gotten a bum wrap. He turned the Lions' offense from the 27th-ranked unit to 19th overall with Jon Kitna at QB. Martz gave the 49ers an offense that averaged 21.2 points per game in 2008 after scoring only 13.7 the season prior. Martz gets knocked for high sack rates, but he hasn't coordinated an offense with a good line in nearly a decade. Source: NBCSports.com
