49ers LT Joe Staley will resume starting in Week 15, coach Mike Singletary confirmed Friday.
Staley, coming off a sprained PCL and MCL, will push Barry Sims back to the bench. The 49ers overhauled their offense during his time away, but Staley is athletic and powerful enough to excel in any scheme. He'll help Alex Smith.

Coach Mike Singletary confirmed that LT Joe Staley (knee) will start when healthy.
There was a report that Barry Sims would remain the starter, but that's not going to happen. Staley is the team's best offensive lineman. "When you talk about our starting left tackle, that’s Joe," Singletary said. Staley could be back as soon as this week.

49ers LT Joe Staley (knee) is expected to return to game action this week.
He'll be needed too. His replacement, Barry Sims, came down with a knee injury Monday night and was undergoing an MRI Tuesday. Staley is likely to start Sunday against the Eagles.

49ers declared LT Joe Staley, CB Nate Clements, C Cody Wallace, WR Isaac Bruce, CB Marcus Hudson, DT Baraka Atkins, and LB Diyral Briggs inactive for Week 15 against the Cardinals.
Nate Davis is the third QB. Staley, who's been out since early November, still isn't over his knee injury. Barry Sims is holding up well in Staley's stead and will protect Alex Smith's blind side. Bruce is a healthy scratch.

49ers LT Joe Staley (knee), who is close to returning, may not get his starting job back from Barry Sims.
Staley has been out since Nov. 1. He's the Niners' best offensive lineman, but offensive coordinator Jimmy Raye hinted that continuity is more important than getting Staley back in there. Look for Staley to sit out this week but gradually work his way back into his old job.

49ers LT Joe Staley (knee) has resumed practicing on a limited basis.
Barring a setback, Staley is expected to play with a new knee brace Monday night. Though Barry Sims has held own for the past month, Staley will reclaim his starting job.
