 Early Doucet-WR- CardinalsJan. 22 - 1:29 pm et
Beat reporter Kent Somers believes Early Doucet would move into the No. 3 receiver role if the Cardinals trade Anquan Boldin this offseason.
We wouldn't be so sure that Steve Breaston would definitely move to No. 2. Breaston's return duties may factor in, with Arizona wanting him to avoid more hits. Breaston also has proved somewhat fragile in his three seasons, often battling nagging injuries. If Q is dealt, an open competition is possible.

 Anquan Boldin-WR - Cardinals Jan. 22 - 10:34 am et

Beat writer Kent Somers expects the Cardinals to be "earnest in their efforts to trade" Anquan Boldin this offseason.
Their best offer last year was reportedly a third-round pick and another player, and Somers suspects that offer might be enough to do the trick this time around. Boldin, 29, has been injury prone as he enters the final year of his contract. The Cardinals are 6-2 without him over the past two years, and they're confident in Steve Breaston and Early Doucet replacing his production.

 Matt Leinart-QB - Cardinals Jan. 21 - 10:21 am et

Matt Leinart's inaccuracy has "eroded confidence among the receiving corps," according to Cardinals beat writer Kent Somers.
Not only does Leinart diminish their playmaking ability, his high throws make them targets for big hits. Per Somers, the offense "will no doubt change" if Leinart takes over, with the running game taking center stage. With Beanie Wells emerging as an explosive runner, the Cardinals' pass-heavy offense could be on its last legs.

 Steve Breaston-WR - Cardinals Jan. 16 - 8:38 pm et

Steve Breaston caught four passes for 52 yards against the Saints in the Divisional Round of the playoffs.
Breaston started in a three-receiver set, but he was the third option behind Larry Fitzgerald and Early Doucet for much of the afternoon. He should see an increase in consistency if Anquan Boldin gets traded in the final year of his contract this offseason.
 Anquan Boldin-WR - Cardinals Jan. 16 - 3:11 pm et

Cardinals WR Anquan Boldin (ankle) and ILB Gerald Hayes (ankle) are both inactive for Saturday's game against the Saints, as expected.
Steve Breaston will start for Boldin, with Early Doucet seeing time in three-receiver sets. Monty Beisel will start for Hayes, which merits an upgrade for the Saints' ground game. Other Cardinals inactives: QB Brian St. Pierre, FB Nehemiah Broughton, S Rashad Johnson, OG Herman Johnson, DE Jeremy Clark, and TE Steven Spach.

 Anquan Boldin-WR - Cardinals Jan. 12 - 4:01 pm et

Though he was held out of Cardinals practice Tuesday, Anquan Boldin (knee, ankle) is "definitely" optimistic that he will play at New Orleans Saturday.
The Cardinals won't release an injury report because it's Tuesday, but Boldin said he felt "a lot better" after working out on the side. Considering the strong play of Early Doucet and Steve Breaston last week, a gimpy Boldin could be doing the Cardinals more harm than good if he struggles to separate. He's likely heading toward a second straight game-time decision.
