49ers activated DE Ray McDonald from the active/PUP list.
McDonald is coming off offseason ACL surgery and is expected to return to practice Monday afternoon. He'll resume his role as Justin Smith's backup at right end.

49ers DE Ray McDonald (reconstructive knee surgery) will be held out of early training camp practices while he continues to rehab his right knee.
Justin Smith's backup is expected to be placed on active/PUP this week.

The 49ers expect DE Ray McDonald (reconstructive knee surgery) to be ready by Week 1.
McDonald, who had surgery on the same knee that bothered him in college, is still questionable for training camp. He is RE Justin Smith's backup.

49ers DE Ray McDonald underwent knee surgery after the season.
The injury is to the same knee that was seen as a question mark when McDonald was drafted back in 2007. There's no word on the severity of the surgery or McDonald's expected recovery time.
