The Browns reportedly put free agent CB Mike Richardson through a workout on Wednesday.
They must not love what they've seen from rookie Coye Francies. Richardson, cut by the Pats in mid-August, is familiar with coach Eric Mangini's scheme. The 2007 sixth-round pick would play special teams in Cleveland.

Patriots released CB Mike Richardson.
After adding Leigh Bodden, Shawn Springs, and Darius Butler, the Pats are much deeper at corner this year. The 2007 sixth-rounder will try to catch on elsewhere.

Patriots downgraded LaMont Jordan and CB Mike Richardson to out Saturday. They didn't travel to Miami.
It's a little surprising the Patriots have hung on to Jordan for seven weeks while he's been hurt. Laurence Maroney didn't warrant the same treatment. Sammy Morris figures to lead the Patriots in touches against Miami.
