Saints T Zach Strief will start at LT over Jermon Bushrod on Sunday.
Both Strief and Bushrod will play extensively, though. Bushrod has done a more than admirable job filling in for Pro Bowl LT Jammal Brown (hip, sports hernia) this season, so the move is a bit of a surprise.

Saints LT Jermon Bushrod didn't allow a single QB pressure to Giants RE Osi Umenyiora in Week 6.
Football Outsiders also believes that Bushrod, hailed by Mel Kiper two years ago as the steal of the '07 draft, is already better than usual Saints left tackle Jammal Brown. Bushrod's swift development has been one of the unsung stories for the 5-0 Saints. He is slated for restricted free agency in 2010.

Saints coach Sean Payton said he expects LT Jermon Bushrod (knee) to be healthy for Week 6.
Bushrod missed Week 4 and Zach Strief did well while replacing him. Bushrod is already filling in for normal starter Jammal Brown (sports hernia), who is out for the year.

Saints LT Jermon Bushrod (knee) is not expected to play in Week 4.
New Orleans' depth at left tackle is among the best in the league, even after losing Jammal Brown for the year. Zach Strief will start against the Jets.

 Jammal Brown-T - Saints Sep. 29 - 4:20 pm et

Saints placed LT Jammal Brown (hip, sports hernia) on injured reserve, ending his season.
Brown underwent sports hernia surgery in late August and then followed it up with an early September hip surgery. He was originally expected to return around mid-season. Brown obviously wasn't missed in the first two games, but his fill-in Jermon Bushrod injured his ankle against a pressuring Bills defense in Week 3. The Saints' best lineman, Brown is a free agent after the season and will likely be brought back on a relatively cheap, short-term deal.

Saints LT Jermon Bushrod injured his ankle in Sunday's win over the Bills and was replaced by Zach Strief.
Bushrod hurt his right ankle in the second quarter, left the game briefly and then returned. But the man who protects Drew Brees' blind side eventually had to leave the game. Bushrod is already filling in for normal starter Jammal Brown (sports hernia).
