Cowboys RT Marc Colombo is out at least six games after undergoing surgery to repair torn ligaments in his ankle Monday.
He needed surgery on his high ankle sprain, but not on his fractured fibula. The team won't place Colombo on injured reserve in hopes of having him back for the playoffs. Doug Free, who is highly athletic and projects as a strong pass protector, will stand in. Free has zero career starts, however. Source: Dallas Morning News
