Rashard Mendenhall was held to 36 yards on 13 carries and one catch for five yards in Sunday's loss to the Bengals.
This was the first time Mendenhall has been shut down since taking over for Willie Parker. It's time we give this Bengals' defense a lot of credit as they completely dominated the line of scrimmage. Mendenhall didn't do anything to draw the ire of Mike Tomlin and will be set up for a big game against the Chiefs next week.

Rashard Mendenhall rushed for 155 yards on 22 carries in Monday night's victory over the Broncos.
Mendenhall gashed Denver for a 7.0 YPC average, with most of his yards coming in the second half. He consistently hit the hole hard up the middle and tore apart the Broncos' defense outside. The Steelers have a tough game against a stout Cincinnati defense next week.

Steelers coordinator Bruce Arians admitted that Willie Parker (turf toe) is not 100 percent -- and probably won't be for the rest of the season.
Rashard Mendenhall has a vice grip on the starting job, and Parker no longer poses much of a threat. Parker is not worth carrying on fantasy rosters except as a handcuff to Mendenhall.

The Steelers are running the ball on just 42.4 percent of offensive plays, which would represent the lowest number in franchise history if it stands up.
They might see a slight uptick in the second-half with weather starting to become a factor and Rashard Mendenhall succeeding at a 5.4 YPC clip. Still, this is now an uptempo, pass-first offense with Ben Roethlisberger earning the complete trust of coordinator Bruce Arians and coach Mike Tomlin.

Coach Mike Tomlin indicated that Rashard Mendenhall's second fumble in as many weeks won't threaten his starting job.
Mendenhall was on the bench in favor of Mewelde Moore late in Sunday's game, but Tomlin explained that it just "speaks to the level of trust we have in Mewelde." Asked if Mendenhall's job would be re-assessed, Tomlin replied, "Not at all."

Rashard Mendenhall rushed for 69 yards on ten carries in the Steelers' Week 7 win over the Vikings.
Mendenhall also caught one pass and also lost a big fumble near the goal line in the fourth quarter. He hit the holes with a lot of burst and quickness, but after the fumble was yanked in favor of Mewelde Moore. The Steelers didn't need much offense as their defense scored two times to close it out. Mendenhall and the Steelers go on their bye week before a tough game in Denver in Week 9.
