Mario Manningham said his shoulder is bruised "really bad" and he may need surgery.
Manningham should be fine for offseason workouts, but his role declined sharply in the second half of the season. Hakeem Nicks has more upside as the Giants starting split end.

Giants declared WR Mario Manningham, third QB Rhett Bomar, CB Corey Webster, S Sha'Reff Rashad, RT Kareem McKenzie, G Rich Seubert, TE Scott Chandler, and DL Chris Canty inactive for Week 17.
Ahmad Bradshaw is active, as expected. Manningham finishes his second year with 57 catches for 822 yards and five touchdowns. He's emerged as a dangerous threat in the intermediate passing game, but needs to improve his route running in the offseason to hold off Hakeem Nicks for playing time in 2010. Nicks unseated Manningham in the starting lineup down this season's stretch.

ESPN's John Clayton reported that Mario Manningham (shoulder) is out for Sunday's game in Minnesota.
Manningham practiced on a limited basis during the week but isn't going to be able to go. With Mario out, Hakeem Nicks becomes an every-down receiver and will likely work against Vikes CB Benny Sapp for much of the afternoon. Look for him to have a solid game.

His status is uncertain for Sunday's game against the Vikings.

Mario Manningham (shoulder) returned to a limited practice Thursday.
Manningham likely tweaked his shoulder injury last week, but he's not seriously injured. Expect him to play as a borderline WR3 at Minnesota this week.

Mario is not known to be injured and is coming off his best game in over a month -- a six-catch, 87-yard effort at Carolina. He should play in Week 17.
