Malcolm Kelly caught five passes for a career-high 109 yards against the Chargers in Week 17.
Filling in for Devin Thomas, Kelly was headed toward another uninspiring performance before hauling in a Redskins' season-high 84-yard bomb. He figures to remain behind fellow 2008 second-rounder Thomas heading into the 2010 season.

Malcolm Kelly caught four passes for 25 yards in Week 16.
Kelly can freestyle with the best of 'em, but he can't get open and does little after the catch. Starting in place of Devin Thomas (ankle), Kelly finished the game with six targets. Thomas' status is uncertain for Week 17.

Devin Thomas (ankle) missed practice again Thursday.
The Redskins aren't counting on having Thomas available this week. Malcolm Kelly is set to take his place in the starting lineup, though he's far from a fantasy option.

Devin Thomas was held catch-less in the Redskins' Week 9 loss.
Thomas, unsurprisingly, did not build on his somewhat promising 3-45-1 line in the Skins' last game. He gave poor effort on a target in the intermediate area down the sideline, and was only thrown to by Jason Campbell one other time. Malcolm Kelly had one catch for four yards.

The Redskins demoted Malcolm Kelly from his starting flanker job in large part because of his route running.
Kelly is blaming the fact that he missed the majority of his rookie year due to a knee injury for his troubles, but the bottom line is he simply isn't a great route runner. His size (6'4/227) was expected to give Jason Campbell a red zone threat, but that hasn't come close to happening. Kelly is not even much of a prospect in dynasty leagues.

Redskins coach Jim Zorn indicated that Devin Thomas' ascension to the starting lineup is a permanent move.
Zorn pointed to Thomas' improved work ethic, knowledge of the offense, and concentration as reasons for the move. While it won't be enough to give him fantasy value this season, it's a good sign for his Dynasty league value.
