Beat writer Tom Kowalski speculates that the Lions may be interested in Chiefs DL Glenn Dorsey.
The Lions are woefully thin on the defensive line and coordinator Gunther Cunningham was with the Chiefs when they made Dorsey the No. 5 overall pick in the 2008 draft. Still, it's very unlikely that Dorsey gets moved considering his $22.5 million guaranteed contract and talent level.

 Glenn Dorsey-DL - Chiefs Oct. 14 - 10:37 am et

The Chiefs are down on DL Glenn Dorsey and may be willing to trade him, according to NFL.com's Jason La Canfora.
La Canfora says the new coaching staff doesn't like Dorsey, the No. 5 pick in the 2008 draft. Like many other Chiefs, Dorsey landed in coach Todd Haley's doghouse when he showed up to camp out of shape and flunked a conditioning test. Dorsey has been coming around lately and giving up on him just 21 games into his career would be a very surprising move as the trade deadline approaches. He'd also be impossible to trade with a contract including $22.5 million guaranteed.

Glenn Dorsey says he's a better player this season in the 3-4, and may have had his best pro game last Sunday against Oakland.
Chiefs' coaches are finally impressed by Dorsey after he landed in coach Todd Haley's doghouse in the offseason. "That was probably the best we've seen from him. He's showing up more," said defensive coordinator Clancy Pendergast in regards to Dorsey last Sunday. He comes out of the game on obvious passing downs, but coaches are still encouraged by what they have seen from the former first-rounder.

 Alex Magee-DL - Chiefs Aug. 6 - 1:23 am et

Despite Glenn Dorsey's (conditioning) return to practice this week, rookie Alex Magee is playing ahead of him at right defensive end.
Magee is better built for the position and the pick of the new Chiefs regime, so he might have the edge, no matter how high Dorsey was drafted by Herm Edwards. Still, there is minimal IDP value to be had in this defensive line.

Chiefs DE Glenn Dorsey has reportedly landed in coach Todd Haley's doghouse after failing his pre-camp conditioning test.
"I’m a selfish coach," Haley said. "If you’re not on the field practicing, you can’t help me do my job." Haley had Dorsey "confined to the stocks," working for hours each day on grueling exercises designed as punishment and embarrassment.

 Glenn Dorsey-DL - Chiefs Aug. 4 - 6:22 pm et

Chiefs DE Glenn Dorsey has finally been cleared to practice after passing his training camp conditioning test.
Dorsey missed something like five days (about 10 practices) because he was out of shape, which couldn't have endeared him to the new coaches. He'll compete in camp to start at right end with third-round pick Alex Magee.
