Fred Davis caught six passes for 46 yards against the Chargers in Week 17.
Davis missed out on two red-zone scoring opportunities, with the short scores going to Mike Sellers and Todd Yoder instead. The 2008 second-rounder filled in admirably for Chris Cooley, finishing with 48 receptions, 509 yards, and six scores in just nine starts. His emergence could have the new regime dangling Cooley in trade talks, hoping to stockpile draft picks.

Fred Davis caught just two balls for 29 yards in Week 16.
The Redskins went all-out to feature Santana Moss in the passing game and were rarely in scoring position, so Davis didn't get any targets deep in the red zone. Washington heads to San Diego in Week 17 to conclude the season.

Redskins coach Jim Zorn and tight ends coach Scott Wachenheim raved about Fred Davis.
"He's full-speed in two steps. With how much he weighs, how fast he accelerates sets him apart," Wachenheim said. Davis has really impressed since Chris Cooley went down, even improving as a blocker. We have to think Mike Shanahan, or whoever is coaching the Redskins next year, will find a way to use both Cooley and Davis extensively.

Fred Davis caught five passes for 65 yards and a touchdown on Monday night.
Davis continues to be Jason Campbell's favorite target, as he loves to dump the ball off to his backs and tight ends. He was targeted nine times on the night, and two of those targets resulted in Campbell's interceptions. Davis is a nice play next week against the Cowboys.

Fred Davis caught three passes for 50 yards and two touchdowns against the Raiders in Week 14.
Davis has emerged as Jason Campbell's preferred red-zone target, hauling in the Redskins' first two scores going for six and 17 yards. With a score in each of his last three games, Davis is a TE1 next week against a Giants defense that allows the most fantasy points to opposing tight ends.

Fred Davis caught five passes for 53 yards and one touchdown in Week 13 against the Saints.
Jason Campbell found Davis crossing over the middle for an eight-yard touchdown that capped a 94-yard drive in the first quarter, but he was held without a catch in the second half. Still, the second-year tight end has taken advantage of Chris Cooley's injury and is showing major signs of progress. He's a strong TE2 now and has plenty of long-term upside.
