Beat writer Brad Biggs believes Earl Bennett will be "pushed to maintain a starting job" in 2010.
A possession receiver, Bennett works best in the slot. New coordinator Mike Martz hinted, however, that he sees Devin Hester as the Bears' version of Az Hakim inside. Bennett may have to hold off Martz's "real diamond" Johnny Knox for a starting job.

Devin Hester said he would "love" to cut down on his time at wide receiver if it helps him return to dominance as a returner.
"I know what I'm best at," he said. "The return game is my bread and butter." Hester was beginning to emerge as a legit receiving weapon before ankle and calf injuries sent his season into a tailspin. The Bears don't consider him a true No. 1 receiver, and they have depth with Devin Aromashodu emerging along with Johnny Knox and Earl Bennett. Hester's ultimate role may hinge on the Bears' offseason moves.

Greg Olsen may have the most to lose following the Bears' hire of Mike Martz as offensive coordinator.
While Martz figures to make effective use of speedy outside wideouts Devin Aromashodu, Devin Hester, and Johnny Knox, he has no history of tight end usage in the passing game. 2009 Pro Bowler Vernon Davis saw just 49 targets all season under him in 2008, and no Martz TE has ever caught more than 38 passes. We'd guess that Earl Bennett will play in the slot for Martz and potentially be a major asset in PPR leagues.

Earl Bennett caught three passes for 35 yards and one touchdown in Week 16.
Bennett was targeted six times by his college teammate and caught a 20-yard touchdown pass in the fourth quarter, which put the Bears up 30-23. The TD was set up by Danieal Manning's 59-yd kick return. Cutler likes to spread the ball around, so Bennett's fantasy value depends solely on him. The Bears visit the lowly Lions in Week 17.

Earl Bennett caught two balls for 50 yards in Week 15.
Bennett was curiously quiet (1-6) with Devin Hester out in Week 14, but retook his position as the Bears' leading receiver on Sunday. Unfortunately, it translated to little fantasy value. Avoid Bears players going forward.

Devin Hester (calf) is expected to miss practice again Friday, which would leave him doubtful for Sunday's game at Baltimore.
Hester has done some light running this week, but he's not close to full speed yet. Johnny Knox and Devin Aromashodu will both be risky fantasy plays while picking up extra snaps this week. The Bears are aiming for Hester to return to face the Vikings on Monday Night Football in Week 16.
