Impending free agent Ben Watson has switched agents to Rosenhaus Sports.
Indications out of Boston are that neither side is interested in re-signing, so Watson is preparing for the free agent market. Tony Scheffler is expected to be available via trade, but Watson is the best tight end on the open market.

 Ben Watson-TE - Patriots Jan. 26 - 3:45 pm et

According to the Boston Herald, there's "not a lot of interest on either side" regarding the Patriots and free agent TE Ben Watson.
Watson topped Footballoutsiders.com's per-play metrics for tight ends in 2009, but he was underutilized in a passing game that desperately needed another reliable target. The Pats seemed to have lost confidence in Watson's come-and-go hands a couple years back, and his role has been decreasing ever since. He would benefit from a fresh start.

Beat writer Mike Reiss expects the Patriots to part ways with impending free agent TE Ben Watson this offseason.
Watson played 66 percent of the offensive snaps in 2009, second to Randy Moss among non-quarterback skill position players. The Pats clearly don't trust his shaky hands, however, decreasing his role in the passing game over the past three years. They could use a pass-catching upgrade to go with blocking specialist Chris Baker.

 Ben Watson-TE - Patriots Jan. 10 - 4:42 pm et

Ben Watson was held to three yards on one catch in the Patriots' season-ending playoff loss to Baltimore.
Including the playoffs, Watson caught 30 passes all year. The 29-year-old will hit the unrestricted free agent market this offseason as one of the top tight ends available, though that isn't saying much. Watson's fantasy value should rise if he catches on with a team that runs a more TE-friendly offense.
 Tom Brady-QB - Patriots Jan. 7 - 4:07 pm et

Tom Brady (ribs, shoulder, finger) is practicing in full this week.
The reports about Brady playing through broken ribs and a fractured may have just surfaced recently, but he's already over the worst of it. Ben Watson (knee) and Julian Edelman (arm) are also practicing in full this week.

 Ben Watson-TE - Patriots Jan. 3 - 5:49 pm et

Ben Watson caught three passes for 32 yards against the Texans in Week 17.
Watson was targeted six times, with his role in the passing game increasing slightly after Wes Welker's knee injury. Overly reliant on touchdowns, Watson finished with the least amount of receptions among the Top-20 fantasy tight ends. He's scheduled to hit free agency this offseason.
