Saints RCB Tracy Porter (knee) returned to the lineup in Week 15.
Nickel back Randall Gay also returned from a hamstring injury, although he was concussed against the Cowboys. Porter had six tackles and broke up two passes. Saints LCB Jabari Greer (groin), who's been out since early November, expressed optimism on Monday that he'll be able to return soon.

Saints coach Sean Payton indicated that CB Tracy Porter (MCL sprain) is ahead of schedule and is on track to return before the end of the regular season.
Fellow starting corner Jabari Greer (groin) returned to a limited practice Thursday, so the secondary is showing signs of regaining health down the stretch. Veteran street free Mike McKenzie played well in their absence Monday night.

Beat reporter Jeff Duncan confirms that Tracy Porter has a sprained MCL and will miss 4-6 weeks.
In a somewhat strange coincidence, it's the same injury that has hobbled fellow Saints Pierre Thomas, Mike Bell, Sedrick Ellis and Kendrick Clancy at different points this season. Porter's loss is big as Jabari Greer is already struggling with a groin injury. Luckily, the Saints are facing rookie QB Josh Freeman this week.

Scout.com's Adam Caplan estimates that Saints CB Tracy Porter's MCL strain will cost him 4-8 weeks.
Caplan says the injury "sounds like" a Grade 3 sprain, or full tear. Porter doesn't need surgery, but he may not return until the final few weeks of the season. Randall Gay and Malcolm Jenkins will start on the corners until Jabari Greer (groin) returns. Leigh Torrence will be the nickel back.

Saints coach Sean Payton revealed Monday that RCB Tracy Porter does not have a torn ACL, and that his injury is not season ending.
The Saints feared that Porter might need reconstructive knee surgery as recently as Sunday night, but tests revealed a strained MCL. He's probably still going to miss multiple weeks. Malcolm Jenkins' snaps will increase.

The Saints reportedly fear that RCB Tracy Porter will be lost for the season with a torn left ACL.
An MRI will determine the extent. Porter, whose first season also ended on injured reserve, was playing very well with 41 tackles, three picks, eight breakups, and two forced fumbles through nine games. Rookie Malcolm Jenkins may be forced to start the rest of the way of Porter's ACL is torn.
