Titans defensive line coach Jim Washburn said Wednesday that William Hayes is his starting left defensive end going forward.
That's the spot previously occupied by Jevon Kearse, who was inactive in Week 5. "William is our best left end. I am just playing our best guys right now," said Washburn. Hayes has 26 tackles, 1 1/2 sacks and six QB pressures this season. Don't expect Kearse to get back on the field anytime soon.

Titans DE Jevon Kearse was not on the sidelines after being a healthy scratch for Sunday night's game.
Second-year end William Hayes started, while nickel rusher Jacob Ford played more snaps and Dave Ball took Kearse's place on the game-day roster. Asked about Kearse's absence, coach Jeff Fisher responded, "I don't know. I didn't take roll." More inactivity is in Kearse's future.

Titans DE William Hayes has set a goal of double-digit sacks for his second season.
He had just one sack as a rookie, but line coach Jim Washburn has noticed Hayes take major strides this spring. At 6'3/272, Hayes has the size to be an every-down left defensive end. He'll push Jevon Kearse to start there in camp.
