Josh Morgan is not expected to face competition for his starting flanker job in 2010.
Morgan has plenty of speed and size, but his role has diminished into mostly a run-blocking, Michael Jenkins-type wideout in the 49ers' offense. By far, Michael Crabtree will be the 49ers receiver to target in 2010 fantasy drafts.

Josh Morgan caught two passes for 27 yards in Week 17.
Morgan also returned two kicks for 40 yards. He caught 52 passes for 527 yards and three touchdowns in 2009 and since he is a good blocker, he should start opposite Michael Crabtree next year.

Josh Morgan caught four passes for just 21 yards and added one rushing attempt for 16 yards against the Lions in Week 16.
He added 30 yards on two kickoff returns. Morgan was targeted seven times, but Alex Smith worked mostly in the short passing game this week. He's a weak WR3 option against the Rams next week.

49ers offensive coordinator Jimmy Raye has been raving about Josh Morgan's improvement of late.
The two got off to a rocky start with Raye pushing Morgan too hard early in the season, but Morgan has made an impression as a complete receiver. "I think he has a chance to ascend to the next level as a wide receiver," said Raye. "He is a big, physical guy that has burst and power and speed."

Josh Morgan caught seven passes for 61 yards with a touchdown in Sunday's loss to the Eagles.
Morgan continues to benefit from the spread offense. He has 22 catches in his last four games and has added a pair of touchdowns in that span. He's not much of a big-play threat, but has the physical assets a receiver needs to go over the middle and break tackles. Morgan gets a tasty matchup with the Lions next week.

Josh Morgan caught three passes for 14 yards in Week 14.
Morgan was targeted five times on the night after netting six catches in each of the past two weeks. He looked like he was becoming a bigger part of the offense of late, but the 49ers got back to the run this week and Morgan was out blocking for Frank Gore.
