Packers backup QB Matt Flynn (shoulder) resumed throwing Monday and is ready to go for Week 1.
Flynn hadn't thrown since taking a hit on his shoulder against Buffalo on Aug. 22. The Packers are only carrying two quarterbacks, so you know they're comfortable with Flynn's injury.

Packers backup QB Matt Flynn (shoulder) returned to practice Sunday.
Flynn was missed in the kicking game during Green Bay's third exhibition contest, as he is the Packers' holder. He'll resume those duties this week.

Matt Flynn suffered a shoulder sprain in the Packers win against the Bills on Saturday.
Both Flynn and coach Mike McCarthy were quiet about the injury after the game, but it is worth keeping track of. Flynn seems to have the Packers' No. 2 quarterback job in his hands, too.

Brian Brohm surprisingly entered Saturday's game ahead of Matt Flynn, but he was unable to take advantage of the opportunity.
Brohm finished 12-of-19 for 89 yards, which doesn't sound terrible, but four of his five drives ended in a punt or interception. Matt Flynn, who came on to replace Brohm, left with a shoulder injury, but there's no indication that it's serious.

Matt Flynn widened his grip on the Packers' No. 2 QB job with a sharp performance in the team's first preseason game.
Flynn looked much better than Brian Brohm, who has disappointed since being a second-round pick in 2008. Flynn, a seventh-round pick that year, is poised to be the one that steps in should anything happen to Aaron Rodgers.

Matt Flynn remains "comfortably ahead" of Brian Brohm through one week of camp in their battle to be Green Bay's No. 2 quarterback.
Flynn has shown more leadership skills and throws a "better ball." Brohm is improving some, but is experimenting with wearing a glove on his right hand and has exhibited inconsistency. He'll need to get red hot to pass Flynn.
