Rams starting SLB David Vobora left Sunday's loss to the Titans in the fourth quarter with a hyperextended knee and an ankle injury.
Vobora, who has been a revelation at outside linebacker of late, was injured while covering a kickoff in a 33-7 game for a 1-12 team. The severity of the injury is unknown.

Rams LB David Vobora, back from his four-game suspension, has reclaimed his starting job on the strong side.
The position usually doesn't get many tackles. Vobora replaces Larry Grant at SAM. The starting weak-side linebacker remains journeyman Paris Lenon.

NFL suspended Rams LB David Vobora four games for violating the league's policy on performance enhancing substances.
Vobora's agent says his client plans to sue the company from which he purchased the substance. Vobora reportedly called the NFL's hotline before he took the product and was told it was not on the banned list. It was also not on the sanctioned list, so Vobora was taking a risk. Newly signed Paris Lenon will be forced into action.

Mr. Irrelevant 2008, David Vobora, will start at strongside linebacker for the Rams in Week 1.
Vobora was the winner by process of elimination. Veteran Chris Draft was released after refusing to take a paycut, and Larry Grant is currently sidelined with a knee injury. Expect Grant to push for the job as soon as he's healthy.

Rams released LB Chris Draft.
The Rams take a slight cap hit, but save $1.3 million in cash. Draft lost out to rookie James Laurinaitis for the MIKE linebacker job, but was expected to start on the strong side. Now it looks like David Vobora will start there. The Rams must not think Larry Grant's knee injury is too serious.

Larry Grant opened Friday's practice as the strongside linebacker on the No. 1 defense.
Chris Draft was in the middle, but that will be James Laurinaitis' spot in the very near future. Draft is expected to shift to the strong side, but Rams coaches would be happy if either Grant or David Vobora plays well enough to shove the veteran into a reserve/fourth linebacker role.
