Patriots WR Brandon Tate said Tuesday that his surgically repaired right knee is "good."
Tate came off the PUP list in late October, only to be placed on injured reserve three weeks later -- ostensibly due to a setback. If finally healthy, he could fill the team's need for a dangerous returner and situational deep threat in 2010.

Patriots placed WR/KR Brandon Tate (knee) on injured reserve, ending his season.
Tate was just activated from the PUP in Week 7, but clearly had a setback with his surgically repaired knee. Tate tore his ACL and MCL last October while playing for North Carolina. Sam Aiken now has the No. 3 receiver duties all to himself with Julian Edelman (arm) likely out and there has to be long-term concerns about Tate.

Patriots KR Brandon Tate (knee) missed his third straight practice Friday and has been ruled out for Week 10.
Tate wasn't noticeably injured in his Week 9 return from the PUP list, but this isn't a good sign for the rookie. The Pats are secretive about injuries, so there's no way to know what the problem is unless a reporter finds out.

It's still unclear if Tate had a setback with his surgically repaired knee, but there has to be some concern. If the rookie can't go against the Colts Sunday, Sam Aiken will have the No. 3 WR duties all to himself.

Patriots WR Brandon Tate (knee) missed Patriots practice Wednesday.
Tate shared third receiver duties with Sam Aiken in Week 9, taking a reverse 11 yards and returning kicks. The concern is that Tate suffered a setback with the knee he had surgically repaired after his final college season. We'll know he didn't if Tate practices later this week and plays at Indianapolis.

Patriots rookie WR Brandon Tate is expected to share No. 3 receiver snaps with Sam Aiken this week against the Dolphins.
Neither player will be a fantasy option while splitting time this week, but Tate is worth keeping an eye on -- especially in return yardage leagues. He's still getting into the offensive rhythm after not being allowed to practice while on the PUP list, but the Pats want to get him more involved in the second half of the season.
