Cowboys receivers coach Ray Sherman insists Kevin Ogletree isn't ready for a starting job opposite Miles Austin.
"Not yet," said Sherman. "He's getting there, but the next step, if there’s going to be one, has to be earned. He hasn't earned it yet. Don't rush him." Ogletree has shown flashes of talent and will likely take on a bigger role for 2010, but the coaches obviously don't want the recent fans' clamoring going to his head.

The San Antonio Express-News believes Roy Williams is "stopping the progress of undrafted rookie Kevin Ogletree."
The Dallas Morning News makes a similar argument, that Ogletree would have surpassed Williams by the playoffs had the Cowboys worked him into the offense earlier in the season. Ogletree is certainly a name to track in Dynasty leagues, but he's a longshot to take Williams' starting job before the start of the 2010 season.

Roy Williams was included in fewer packages in Week 17 than he was during most of the season.
Williams saw one target and had no catches. He's gently being removed from the offense as Sam Hurd and Kevin Ogletree pick up snaps.

The Cowboys are "strongly considering" replacing Felix Jones on kickoff returns with rookie WR Kevin Ogletree.
Ogletree is splitting time with Jones in practice, though no change has been announced. With 4.36 speed, Ogletree has the speed to be a quality returner. A change would render Jones unstartable in return-yardage leagues.

Cowboys rookie WR Kevin Ogletree was active Sunday night, marking the first time he's ever been "up" in consecutive games.
Ogletree, a Jerry Jones favorite, had two catches for 38 yards and one rush for six yards. He had two screen passes called for him and also took a reverse that is usually run for Miles Austin or Patrick Crayton. Ogletree is a long way from the fantasy radar, but he made something of his chance.

Cowboys declared WR Kevin Ogletree, S Mike Hamlin, LB Jason Williams, G Montrae Holland, C Duke Preston, OT Pat McQuistan and LB Curtis Johnson inactive for Sunday's game against the Falcons.
Ogletree being inactive means the Cowboys are at least a little comfortable with Roy Williams' ribs. All three Cowboys running backs are healthy enough to play together for the first time since Week 2.
