Jets declared RB Danny Woodhead, RB Chauncey Washington, third QB Erik Ainge, DT Howard Green, LB Kenwyn Cummings, QB Kevin O'Connell, OG Matt Slauson, and DE Ropati Pitoitua inactive for the AFC Championship Game.
Woodhead's absence means Thomas Jones will likely see all of the tailback snaps on passing downs. The Jets are otherwise healthy across the board.

Danny Woodhead caught three passes for 35 yards and rushed four times for 17 yards in Week 14 against the Buccaneers.
The Jets employed a run-heavy attack against the Bucs and threw only short passes. Woodhead and Thomas Jones benefited, but the rest of the Jets were left as fantasy non-factors. It wouldn't be surprising to see a similar game plan next week against the Falcons.

Jets RB Danny Woodhead didn't touch the football in Week 8.
A New York Daily News report last week claimed Woodhead would take over as the Jets' third-down back following Leon Washington's season-ending injury, but it isn't happening. Thomas Jones is an effective receiver and will be the best bet for receptions in New York's backfield going forward.

Danny Woodhead will see increased reps on third downs with Leon Washington done for the season.
Shonn Greene isn't a good enough receiver to fill the role. A training camp darling, Woodhead won't have any fantasy value. Expect Thomas Jones to get the biggest bump in passing-down snaps and receptions. The Jets couldn't find a way to involve three backs before, so it's hard to imagine them doing so now.

Jets signed Danny Woodhead to their active roster.
Woodhead, who was a running back on the practice squad, is shifting to wide receiver. This is a sure sign that Jerricho Cotchery (hamstring) won't play this week and Brad Smith (quad) is very unlikely to go as well. The Jets see some potential in Woodhead as a slot receiver, although it's unlikely he'll get on the field this week. David Clowney and Dustin Keller will be the main targets other than Braylon Edwards.

Jets practice squad RB Danny Woodhead has been moved to wide receiver.
The Jets have thinking about making the move ever since Woodhead played the role of Wes Welker on the Week 2 scout team. With Jerricho Cotchery and Brad Smith banged up, the former Chadrone State star could be activated this week.
