Browns coach Eric Mangini said Wednesday he is still weighing his options in terms of who will replace D'Qwell Jackson (injured reserve, shoulder).
The candidates are David Veikune, Kaluka Maiava and David Bowens. Veikune and Maiava are rookies. None of the three have been affected by the team's flu bug yet. Expect some sort of rotation, with Maiava and Veikune leading the way.

Browns placed ILB D'Qwell Jackson on injured reserve with a torn pectorals muscle, ending his season.
It's a devastating blow to a Browns team already 30th in run defense. Jackson was third in the league in tackles while playing through a hamstring injury the past few weeks. Rookie Kaluka Maiava took over in the second half Sunday, though second-round pick David Veikune may work into the mix. In the final year of his rookie deal, Jackson is scheduled for free agency in the offseason.

Browns signed fourth-round LB Kaluka Maiava to a four-year contract worth just under $2.5 million.
The smallish USC product will battle for a backup job at training camp. Ideally, Maiava will develop into a top special teamer in the Larry Izzo mold. At just 6'0/230, he probably isn't going to play much inside 'backer.
