Beat writer Brad Biggs believes Earl Bennett will be "pushed to maintain a starting job" in 2010.
A possession receiver, Bennett works best in the slot. New coordinator Mike Martz hinted, however, that he sees Devin Hester as the Bears' version of Az Hakim inside. Bennett may have to hold off Martz's "real diamond" Johnny Knox for a starting job.

Devin Hester said he would "love" to cut down on his time at wide receiver if it helps him return to dominance as a returner.
"I know what I'm best at," he said. "The return game is my bread and butter." Hester was beginning to emerge as a legit receiving weapon before ankle and calf injuries sent his season into a tailspin. The Bears don't consider him a true No. 1 receiver, and they have depth with Devin Aromashodu emerging along with Johnny Knox and Earl Bennett. Hester's ultimate role may hinge on the Bears' offseason moves.

Greg Olsen may have the most to lose following the Bears' hire of Mike Martz as offensive coordinator.
While Martz figures to make effective use of speedy outside wideouts Devin Aromashodu, Devin Hester, and Johnny Knox, he has no history of tight end usage in the passing game. 2009 Pro Bowler Vernon Davis saw just 49 targets all season under him in 2008, and no Martz TE has ever caught more than 38 passes. We'd guess that Earl Bennett will play in the slot for Martz and potentially be a major asset in PPR leagues.

The players on the winning side of the Pro Bowl get $45,000, about 11 percent of Johnny Knox's 2009 salary with the Bears.
Knox made $395,000 in his rookie season as a fifth-round pick and made the Pro Bowl as a return specialist when Percy Harvin pulled out. The speedster showed good upside as a rookie, but his fantasy potential was hurt when Devin Aromashodu broke out late in the season.

Bears WR Johnny Knox was added to the NFC Pro Bowl roster as a return specialist in place of Percy Harvin (migraines).
Knox was second in the NFL with a 29.0-yard kickoff return average. His 45 receptions were tied for the most by a rookie wide receiver in franchise history. His six total TDs were fifth among NFL rookies in 2009.

Bears declared WR Johnny Knox, P Richmond McGee, QB Brett Basanez, DB Al Afalava, DB Danieal Manning, OL Lance Louis, OL James Marten and DL Matt Toeaina inactive for Week 17 against the Lions.
