Jaguars assistant head coach/tight ends believes that Zach Miller can become a Dallas Clark-type player in the future.
Miller, a college QB who led the Jags in receiving during Week 17, certainly has impressive athleticism. "(Clark) is the guy we’re going to emulate," Tice said of Miller's development. "He would be a very good role model." Miller could push Marcedes Lewis for early-down duties this offseason.

Rookie Zach Miller caught eight passes for 69 yards and two touchdowns in the Jaguars' Week 17 loss to Cleveland.
The former college quarterback may never block well enough to be an every-down tight end, but there's no question that he's already a better pass catcher than starter Marcedes Lewis. Miller shouldn't have any trouble winning the Jaguars' No. 2 TE position during the upcoming offseason. There may even be an outside chance that he'll overtake Lewis on early downs.

The Jaguars installed plays for TE Zach Miller earlier this season and are finally starting to implement them in games.
Miller is coming off a three catch, 74-yard performance against the Texans in Week 13. The sixth-round rookie said he thinks the coaches are becoming more comfortable in his familiarity with the offense. Still, the former college quarterback has a long way to go before becoming anything more than "the other" Zach Miller.

The converted college quarterback had just seven catches for 51 yards all year entering the game. Catching all three of his targets, Miller took advantage of open space on tight end screen plays for a career-best day. Don't expect him to be an option in fantasy leagues anytime soon, however.

"It’s great to have Zach back as a tight end," said coach Jack Del Rio. Miller will play in a situational pass-catching role behind Marcedes Lewis.
