Redskins rookie seventh-rounder Marko Mitchell made his first two catches of the season in Week 9.
The training camp darling was only targeted twice, but starter Devin Thomas only saw two balls as well. Mitchell, who goes 6'4/218, had 22 yards. Malcolm Kelly had one catch for four yards and is tumbling down the depth chart.

As expected, the Redskins kept camp hero Marko Mitchell on the roster.
No one was more impressive than the seventh-round pick. Now the question is if he'll get playing time or even be active on Sundays. He'd have to eat into Devin Thomas' already limited snaps to get a look in games.

Mitchell has been the unquestioned star of Redskins' camp, but he's not even guaranteed a roster spot yet. Let's see him continue to dominate practices and make the team before we jump to any conclusions.

Rookie Marko Mitchell has been the "talk of training camp" and caught a three-yard touchdown pass in the Redskins' second preseason game.
Mitchell hasn't shown any special teams value (key for end-of-the-roster receivers), but caught three passes Saturday against Pittsburgh. Both Santana Moss and Clinton Portis have talked up the possible No. 5 receiver.

Clinton Portis says Redskins rookie wideout Marko Mitchell is "killing" CB Carlos Rogers on the practice field.
"He can not stop him. He ain't stopped him yet this whole camp," said Portis. Rogers is one of the league's most underrated cover men. Mitchell is raw coming out of Nevada, but there is opportunity in D.C. behind Santana Moss.

Redskins signed seventh-round WR Marko Mitchell to a multi-year contract.
Mitchell emerged as a big-play threat in Nevada's pistol-spread offense last season, and he has the size (6'4/218) to create mismatches as he develops as a pro. Now that James Thrash is gone, Mitchell has a decent shot to nail down fifth-receiver duties this summer.
