Free agent Shaun Alexander reiterated in an interview with 106.7 The Fan in D.C. that he wants to keep playing football.
"I am as strong and as explosive as I've ever been right now," said Alexander, who turns 32 on Sunday. "If somebody needs somebody to get in the red zone and do some work, I could probably still do that pretty well." We'd love to see a forty time on the guy. There's a reason that no teams are calling.

Free agent RB Shaun Alexander again said he's not retired and wants to play in the NFL this season.
Yeah, we know Shaun. You want to play and we want to live on the moon. Until Edgerrin James and Warrick Dunn get jobs, Alexander is very unlikely to garner interest. But he probably won't stop telling us he has "a few good years left."

Free agent Shaun Alexander says he hasn't ruled out a return to the NFL.
The rest of the league has, but Alexander isn't ready to admit it. The 32-year old says he's had "preliminary talks with a few teams." Alexander spent part of last season with the Redskins, finishing with 11 carries for 24 yards.

Free agent Shaun Alexander is working out in New Jersey in hopes of re-signing with the Redskins.
Alexander, 32 in August, just wants a shot for the minimum pay. "I think that if a team gave me a shot, I think that they would be so pleased," he said. "They would feel like they got a ticket to have somebody that could play really, really well for nothing. I think that would shock a lot of people."

Redskins released RB Shaun Alexander.
Alexander sounded re-energized and grateful to be back in the league, but scouts agree the game has passed him by. If old buddy Jim Zorn wouldn't hold onto him, he's probably not getting another job. Alexander finished with 11 carries for 24 rushing yards in four games. The 2005 MVP is seventh all-time in rushing scores, but is unlikely to get serious Hall of Fame consideration.
