Saints placed NT Kendrick Clancy (knee) on injured reserve, ending his season.
It's not a huge loss for the Saints. Anthony Hargrove should see more snaps with Clancy done and Sedrick Ellis out a couple more weeks. Clancy is a free agent after this season.

It appears likely that Sedrick Ellis (knee) will miss Monday night's game against the Falcons.
Ellis suffered a right knee injury in the win over the Dolphins. Losing Ellis is a blow to the Saints, but it will open up more playing time for talented DT Anthony Hargrove, who had two sacks after Ellis was injured Sunday. Kendrick Clancy (knee) is also expected to be back for this week.

Remi Ayodele has taken over as the Saints' starting nose tackle, replacing Kendrick Clancy.
Clancy has been injured, while New Orleans' run defense has played exceedingly well with Ayodele and "three technique" Sedrick Ellis manning the interior. Ayodele is helping himself with restricted free agency looming.

Beat writer Mike Triplett calls NT Kendrick Clancy the most underrated player on the Saints roster.
Clancy plays the nose next to Sedrick Ellis and has been a quality run-stopper on a defense that doesn't give up a lot of big plays up the middle. The Saints' defensive ends have sorely underachieved over the last two seasons, but their interior line play is an area of strength.
