NFL.com's Jason La Canfora reports the Steelers are "hopeful" that Troy Polamalu's PCL sprain won't cost him more than three games.
Polamalu is already out for Week 11, and La Canfora calls his odds of playing the following week "remote." While Polamalu's PCL injury isn't to the same ligament that cost him four games early this year, it is to the same knee, which is cause for plenty of concern. Tyrone Carter will continue to start.

According to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, Troy Polamalu (PCL sprain) will not play Sunday at Kansas City.
The Steelers are optimistic about Polamalu's knee not being a long-term issue, but he's yet to practice this week and isn't ready to rejoin the lineup. Tyrone Carter will draw the start against a Chiefs offense missing its most explosive weapon in Dwayne Bowe (suspension). Bench your K.C. skill players.

Troy Polamalu has not been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Chiefs despite suffering a PCL strain in Week 10.
Coach Mike Tomlin deemed Polamalu "questionable at best" for this week, so he remains more likely to sit than play. Tomlin also said it's not a "re-injury" of the MCL he sprained early in the season. The Steelers are "more encouraged than initially" about Polamalu's knee, and they're officially labeling him day to day.

Troy Polamalu has a PCL strain and did not re-injure the MCL that caused him to miss four games earlier this season.
This is great news for the Steelers. The PCL strain is in the same knee as his previous injury, but it shouldn't keep him out as long. Coach Mike Tomlin admitted that Polamalu is "questionable at best" for Week 11, but sounded optimistic about his star safety's prognosis. We're estimating a 2-3 week timetable.

According to KDKA in Pittsburgh, an MRI revealed that Troy Polamalu's Week 10 knee injury is not as serious as the one he suffered in the Steelers' regular season opener.
The injury is being called a sprain. It's still a concern that Polamalu hurt the same knee that cost him four games earlier this season. Look for Tyrone Carter to start at strong safety for at least the next 2-3 weeks.

Troy Polamalu was taken to the hospital for an MRI on his left knee late Sunday afternoon, but the Steelers players "acted as if the injury wasn't season-ending."
The players' optimism is a positive sign, but it's worth noting that they may not have any idea how serious the injury is. It's believed that Polamalu was hurt while tackling Cedric Benson, but even that is not known for sure. The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette expects Polamalu to miss "at least a few games," with Tyrone Carter filling in.
