Beat writer Jamison Hensley doesn't expect unrestricted free agent L.J. Smith back with the Ravens next season.
Smith's one-year stint in Baltimore was unsurprisingly marred by injuries and ineffectiveness on his way to two catches all season. He's not the heir apparent to Todd Heap and is unlikely to latch on anywhere as a starter.

The Carroll County Times speculates that Todd Heap may have played his last game with the Ravens.
Heap's athletic ability is declining severely and he is set to make $4 million in 2010. The Ravens sorely need to upgrade Joe Flacco's receivers and Heap, 30 in March, can no longer be considered anything close to a weapon. L.J. Smith is behind Heap on the depth chart and has pass-catching talent if he could ever stay healthy, but he can't and is an unrestricted free agent in 2010.

L.J. Smith (ankle) is listed as doubtful for Monday Night Football.
Smith has only two catches for 31 yards on the season. His absence does not make Todd Heap a better fantasy play. Green Bay is the toughest team in the league against tight ends and Heap is coming off a six-yard game.

Todd Heap (ribs) is active for the Ravens' game against the Colts Sunday.
Heap was a game-time decision, but he's a tough guy and he'll surprisingly play. He's nowhere close to a fantasy option as he's not 100 percent and hasn't had more than 51 receiving yards since Week 1.

Todd Heap (ribs) missed practice every day this week and he is considered unlikely to play.
Heap is a game-time decision, but expect L.J. Smith to get the start. Heap confirmed that his rib is not cracked or broken, making a return to the lineup for Week 12 very possible. Don't use either of the Ravens' tight ends in fantasy.

Todd Heap (chest, ribs) is a "question mark" for Sunday's game against the Colts.
Heap was hurt during the Ravens' win over the Browns on Monday night. If he can't go, L.J. Smith is actually healthy right now and will step in. You shouldn't be waiting on this decision for your fantasy team.
