Jeremy Shockey doesn't believe that LeBron James could play in the NFL, and estimates that LeBron runs a 4.9 forty.
"Lebron James could not play in the NFL!" Shockey tweeted Wednesday. "Espn is crazy to even think he could even make a practice squad. Hes a 4.9 40 time." James was a first-team all-Ohio receiver as a prep sophomore and led his team to the state semifinals as a junior before quitting to focus on hoops. At 6'8/250, though, a 4.9 wouldn't be very impressive.

Jeremy Shockey caught three passes for 42 yards in Week 10 against the Rams.
Shockey lost some targets to fellow tight end David Thomas. But both were able to exploit the Rams' weak defensive corps and find space over the middle, and both made plays after the catch. The Saints have another attractive matchup next week against the Buccaneers.

Jeremy Shockey was held to just 26 yards on three catches in Week 9 against the Panthers.
Shockey could have added a touchdown but he turned his head too late on a ball that hit him right in the back shoulder. Though he was targeted just five times, he should bounce back with a bigger game against the Rams next week.

Shockey was consistently open over the middle and made a spectacular one-handed catch in the second half. He was targeted six times on the night, as he is one of Drew Brees' top targets. Shockey and the Saints face Carolina in Week 9 before a drooling matchup with the Rams in Week 10.

Jeremy Shockey (shoulder) returned to a full practice Friday.
He will start on Monday Night Football against a Falcons team that is good at defending tight ends, but Shockey has played well all year and is worth a TE1 start. The game figures to at least be high scoring in the Superdome.
