Jets released DT Howard Green.
Green was cut to make room for Danny Woodhead. He could end up back on the squad once Jerricho Cotchery and Brad Smith get healthy.

Jets signed DT Howard Green to a one-year contract.
Green, who spent last year buried as a reserve in Seattle, will likely push Sione Pouha to be Kris Jenkins' backup on the nose. Green offers good size (6'2/320) and knows the scheme after a stint with Rex Ryan in Baltimore.

The Jets have shown interest in free agent DT Howard Green.
Green, who would play nose in Rex Ryan's 3-4 scheme, is listed at 6'2/320. He won't return to Seattle, which is installing more of a one-gap system.
