Blair Jones has been assigned to the AHL.
He was placed on waivers with the return of Jeff Halpern to the lineup, but coach Rick Tocchet had not been overly pleased with his play either.

Jeff Halpern (lower body) will return to the Tampa lineup on Saturday night.
He was hoping to play on Tuesday, but it was reported yesterday that he would not be available until Thursday's game. However, now he will play earlier than expected and will dress on Saturday against the Flyers. Halpern has been out of action since Dec. 23 with a lower-body injury. Blair Jones or James Wright will sit to make room for his return.

It appears that Jeff Halpern (lower body) will not be ready to play Tuesday against Washington as originally hoped.
He is now targeting Thursday's game against Florida for his return to action.

Jeff Halpern (lower body) and Todd Fedoruk (lower body) have been place on injured reserve by Tampa Bay.
Coach Rick Tocchet said they are expected to be sidelined for about two weeks, but they will not require surgeries. Both players were injured in Wednesday's loss to the Flyers. Stay tuned.
