Mike Comrie has been diagnosed with mononucleosis.
Well this makes a lot more sense as Comrie has been ill for a month with what started out as the flu. "They think this has been going on for a couple of weeks, it's maybe one of the reasons his (decreased) energy and production becomes more explained," coach Pat Quinn said. "It has has to run its course. It's one of those viruses you don't play with. It'll run its course and they'll continue to test him until the virus is pushed out." There is no timetable for his return at this time. Reserve the center for now.

Mike Comrie missed Wednesday's game with an illness.
Just an FYI as he is still troubled by the flu bug that has bothered him for the past month. The Oilers played with one less forward on Wednesday and double shifted Sam Gagner and Andrew Cogliano during the game. Comrie, has five goals and eight points in 16 games and is a fringe fantasy player in deeper leagues at this time.

Lubomir Visnovsky had one goal in the Oilers 4-2 loss to the New York Rangers Thursday night.
The goal was his fourth of the season. Mike Comrie was the only other Oiler that could find the back of the net.

Mike Comrie (flu) will be back in the Oilers lineup as they take on the New York Rangers on Thursday.
Comrie has missed the last ten days with the flu. His return coincides with fellow center Shawn Horcoff's shoulder injury that should keep him out 7-10 days. "It was a tough 10 days," he said. "But the last couple of days have been a vast improvement." Get ready to activate Comrie if you would normally do so.

Mike Comrie might play in Monday's game against the New York Islanders.
Comrie has been suffering with complications due to asthma in his fight with the flu. "With this type of flu it's been a struggle to catch my breath," Comrie said. "You want to get out there and play but at the same time if you're not going to help the team there's no point in going out there. There's a lot of guys in here who aren't feeling well, they're just being extra careful because of my asthma." He's missed four of the Oilers' last five games due to the flu.

Mike Comrie missed another game Saturday because of the flu.
He hasn't played since last Tuesday because of the ailment, which has been much more serious than usual, although it isn't swine flu, which teammate Ladislav Smid fell ill to.
