The Dallas Stars have been keeping Marty Turco rested and sharp in the first quarter of the season.
Turco will get the start in goal on Saturday, but coach Marc Crawford is not overusing him this season. Turco has played in 14 of the Stars first 21 games and has not been between the pipes for more than three games in a row this season, a big difference from last season when he saw action in 74 of the Stars 82 games. Alexander Auld has been a very capable backup and will make 25-30 starts this season, keeping Turco well rested the rest of the season. Turco has responded well with a 6-4-4 record, a .915 save percentage and a 2.37 GAA, much better than last season's 33-31-10 record with a .898 save percentage and a 2.81 GAA. He is now once again a valuable fantasy goaltender. |
