Anze Kopitar has been struggling without the injured Ryan Smyth on his wing.
Smyth suffered an upper body injury and has missed the last four games in which Kopitar and Justin Williams have a combined two assists. Alexander Frolov and Teddy Purcell have each played two games on the top line with very little success. "There's no production," coach Terry Murray said of Purcell's last two games on the top line. "There's certainly opportunities, and that's a bit of a concern for me. Again, those situations that I'm seeing Teddy in here tonight, that's his M.O. He usually jumps on those scoring opportunities. I'm going to have to take a look at it." It should be only more three weeks before the return of Smyth to the lineup. It may be an awfully long three weeks for Kopitar and Williams.
