The Detroit Red Wings have sent Doug Janik back to Grand Rapids of the AHL.
Janik was sent down after Jonathan Ericsson was deemed healthy enough to return to the Detroit lineup. He had two assists in 13 games, so his fantasy value will not be missed by poolies.

Doug Janik has been recalled from the minors.
He got the call after Detroit lost defenseman Jonathan Ericsson to a knee injury on Monday night. Janik has appeared in one game for the Wings this season and has no fantasy value.

The Detroit Red Wings sent Doug Janik back to the minors on Wednesday.
Janik replaced an ill Brian Rafalski on Tuesday. He played 13:56 minutes in the Red Wings 2-0 win over Boston. He should only be back with the Red Wings if there are more injuries or illnesses.

Brian Rafalski will sit out Tuesday's game due to an illness.
He missed Monday's practice because of the illness as well. Detroit called up Doug Janik from the minors to play in his place. Consider him day-to-day for now.

He will play on Tuesday night against Boston in place of Brian Rafalski, who is out with an illness.

The Red Wings signed defenseman Doug Janik to a one-year, two-way contract.
Janik will spend most of his time in the AHL. He played 15 NHL games between Dallas and Montreal last season where he had just one assist.
