 Mike Smith-G- LightningNov. 18 - 10:24 am et
Mike Smith will play between the pipes Thursday.
Smith was on the verge of losing his job as the team's starting goaltender when he stopped 30 of 31 shots in Monday's game. However, Antero Niittymaki has an amazing 1.93 GAA and .939 save percentage in 10 games this season, so it won't be long before he gets another start. "We're lucky as coaches to have two really good goalies going for us," Tocchet said. "Smitty is going to take the ball, but Niitty is going to play, too."

 Mike Smith-G - Lightning Nov. 16 - 11:42 pm et

Mike Smith stopped all but one in Tampa Bay`s 4-1 victory over Phoenix.
Smith made 30 saves for his third win of the season. This is a good sign for Smith as he looks to be losing the starting role in Tampa Bay to Antero Nittymaki, who has looked sharp in his recent starts.
 Mike Smith-G - Lightning Nov. 16 - 4:44 pm et

Mike Smith will start on Monday against the Phoenix Coyotes.
Antero Niittymaki replaced Smith midway through November 2nd's game against Philadelphia and Smith hasn't played since. Niittymaki has been on a roll with a 1.72 GAA and .946 save percentage in six November games, so it's a bit of a surprise that the Lightning are going back to Smith now. "You always want to keep a hot goaltender, obviously. But you also have to look at long-term things too," coach Rick Tocchet said. "It's not like we have a minor league goalie going in the lineup. We have a goalie who has played really well for us last year and at home this year, so to me, we shouldn't miss a beat." Smith need to perform well in Monday's game or it could be a while before he gets another chance to win back the starting job.

 David Hale-D - Lightning Nov. 15 - 12:17 pm et

David Hale has become a staple on the team's blueline after beginning the year as the seventh defender.
He played in his 11th straight game Saturday and his work ethic has endeared him to hard-nosed coach Rick Tocchet. With just four assists in 13 games this year, he isn't a huge fantasy contributor, but his strong defensive play helps out goalies Antero Niittymaki and Mike Smith.

 Antero Niittymaki-G - Lightning Nov. 15 - 12:32 am et

Antero Niittymaki allowed one goal on 30 shots but his Lightning lost 2-1 in a shootout to the Kings Saturday night.
Niittymaki stopped two of three shooters in the shootout. Anze Kopitar was the only shooter for both teams to score in the shootout. Tampa was out shot in both the second and third period.

Antero Niittymaki will get the start once again Saturday against Los Angeles.
He might have his work cut out for him though as the Kings are going to be in a foul mood after being waxed by the Thrashers 7-0 Friday night.
