The Leafs will not re-sign backup goalie Curtis Joseph this summer.
"Great service as a Leaf, but we are moving on," general manager Brian Burke said. It is believed that Joseph wants to play one more season in the NHL before retiring, but he may have trouble finding a suitor at this point.

 Curtis Joseph-G - Maple Leafs Apr. 8 - 10:27 pm et

Curtis Joseph stopped 26 of 29 shots in Toronto's 3-1 loss to the Buffalo Sabres on Wednesday evening.
Joseph made some big saves in the game, but allowed two goals in a 26-second span in the third period. His 452nd career loss tied Gump Worsley's record for the most losses in NHL history. It might've very well been his last game in a Toronto uniform.

Curtis Joseph will start against the Sabres Wednesday night.
There isn't a plan for the goalies going forward, but there is a possibility that this could be Joseph's last game with the Leafs as his playing future for next season is in doubt.

 Curtis Joseph-G - Maple Leafs Apr. 1 - 11:34 pm et

Curtis Joseph stopped 32 shots in a 3-2 win over Philadelphia Wednesday evening for his fifth win of the season.
Joseph rebounded from his last start, an abysmal performance against Buffalo on Friday night. Don't let this game fool you though, Cujo is at the end of his career. With Martin Gerber returning next game from a suspension this may have been his swan song in the NHL.

Curtis Joseph will get the start Wednesday against the Flyers.
This is the last game of Martin Gerber's three-game suspension. Youngster Justin Pogge will likely be the backup. All three goalies have no fantasy value whatsoever.

 Justin Pogge-G - Ducks Mar. 29 - 3:19 pm et

Justin Pogge was sent down to the minors on Sunday.
The 22-year-old netminder has struggled this campaign in the NHL, posting a 1-4-1 record to go along with a 4.35 goals-agaisnt average and an .844 save percentage. Martin Gerber still has one game left on his three-game suspension, so the Leafs will probably play Curtis Joseph on Wednesday against the Flyers. Pogge may still be recalled later to serve as Joseph's backup for that contest.
