Phoenix has activated Zbynek Michalek (lower body) from the injury reserve list.
Michalek has been sidelined since November 4th due to the injury. He resumed practicing in full equipment on Sunday.

Zbynek Michalek was on the ice in full equipment Sunday for the first time since sustaining a lower-body injury.
"I’m trying to get back at it," Michalek said. "No matter what you do off the ice, there’s nothing like skating. I felt good, just a little out of breath trying to get my conditioning back. But I’m happy with the progress, and it’s going well for me." Michalek has been sidelined for eight games and there's currently no timetable for his return. Stay tuned.

The Coyotes are being forced to rely on inexperienced defensemen Shaun Heshka and David Schlemko with the rash of injuries to their blueline corps.
"It was a solid first game," coach Dave Tippett said regarding Heshka's NHL debut on Saturday. "He was thrown into a tough situation. We had three young players in there (including Keith Yandle), but I thought he did well, got his feet under him, now he'll know what to expect the next one." Phoenix is playing without valuable rearguards Zbynek Michalek (lower body) and Ed Jovanovski (lower body). They have also been without the services of veteran Kurt Sauer (upper body) since the opening game of the year.

The Phoenix Coyotes said that Zbynek Michalek is week-to-week with a lower body injury.
The Coyotes recalled David Schlemko on Thursday to replace the ailing Michalek. Michalek is an outstanding shot blocker and his presence will be missed on the Coyotes blueline. He does not have a lot of fantasy value, unless you use blocked shots as a category.

Zbynek Michalek is the Coyotes' candidate for the Bill Masterton Memorial Trophy.
The award is presented to the player who best exemplifies the qualities of perseverance, sportsmanship and dedication to hockey. Michalek leads the NHL with 262 blocked shots this season and has earned the respect of his coaches and teammates for putting himself in harm's way.
