Ovechkin was just one of three Capital players with a goal and an assist. Nicklas Backstrom and Alexander Semin both had a goal and assist as well.

Alexander Semin is riding a 10 game point-scoring streak.
He has six goals and 11 assists during that stretch. What's more impressive is that Semin is doing most of his damage at even strength - just two of his goals and five of his points have come on the power play. That will be even more important come playoff time.

Alex Ovechkin scored one goal and added two assists in Washington's 5-1 win over Anaheim Wednesday night.
Ovechkin's multipoint night led the Capitals' offensive surge. The Capitals fired 49 shots at the Anaheim goal, including the Russian sniper's 34th of the season. Alexander Semin netted two markers. Mike Knuble and Shaone Morrisonn each finished with a goal and an assist.

Semin now has 23 goals on the season. John Erskine, Brendan Morrison and Jason Chimera chipped in with a goal and an assist each, while Tomas Fleischmann and Eric Fehr posted two assists apiece.

Semin’s three-point night paced the Capitals to their sixth-straight win, extending their lead in the Eastern conference standings. The Russian winger has been on fire over that span, registering two goals and eight assists to give him 49 points in 42 games this season. Eric Fehr recorded one goal and one assist for his first multi-point night since Dec. 5, while Alex Ovechkin finished the game with a goal and an assist as well. Brooks Laich netted the other Washington marker.
