Alex Ovechkin (shoulder) appears to be set to return to the Capitals' lineup on Tuesday night.
Washington was guarded in making any guarantees of the Great Eight's return, but it is a highly likely that he will be on the ice in his first game back since Nov. 1 due to a shoulder injury. "It's going to be a pretty cool moment for me, especially since I've been practicing so hard with coaches," Ovechkin said. "I just want to come back and play hockey because I see my teammates playing and they have fun. It was a boring time for me to go to the arena and just take some treatments. Finally it's over, but again, we're going to see how it's going to be in warm-ups." It appears as though he will be all systems go for Tuesday's game. Get him back in your lineup ASAP.

When asked about Ovechkin's status, coach Bruce Boudreau said, "As of today, he's in." It looks like, barring a setback, Ovechkin is ready to return to the Capitals lineup after missing six straight games. We'll keep you posted.

Alexander Ovechkin (shoulder) practiced on the top line Monday.
It was the first time Ovechkin practiced on a line since injuring his shoulder on November 1. This is a good indication that he'll return to the lineup Tuesday, although the Capitals haven't announced anything yet. A definitive answer will come later Monday or after Tuesday's morning skate. Stay tuned.

It will be a game-time decision as to whether Alexander Ovechkin (shoulder) will play Saturday against the Devils.
It is unclear if Mike Knuble's injury will hasten Ovechkin's return. Because of the impact Ovechkin can make, we would activate him for Saturday's game. It is a risk worth taking.
