Niklas Backstrom (flu/back) was on the ice for two hours on Monday.
Backstrom thinks he's ready to return to the Wild's lineup, but when asked directly if he would be playing on Wednesday, he simply grinned and said, "You'll have to ask the coaches." Consider him probable for Wednesday's game.

Niklas Backstrom (flu/back) is hoping to be back between the pipes for Minnesota on Wednesday against the Coyotes.
The Wild number one netminder said he plans to work out Sunday and be at practice on Monday and Tuesday. He had been suffering from headaches and a back problem, but the procedure done on Thursday appears to have alleviated those concerns. "They found out the reason and I got [a procedure] done Thursday," Backstrom said. "[Friday] was good and [Saturday] I feel great. It was scary and you start to worry about it. But I was relieved once they found out what it was. It was an easy thing to fix." He was back on the ice on Saturday and we will keep you posted on his recovery.

Niklas Backstrom (flu/back) had a procedure done on Thursday.
No report as to what the procedure was but Backstrom could be back in net as early as Wednesday. The Wild thought that he could work out on Friday and be on the ice Saturday. Backstrom has not played in two weeks. He is the undisputed number one goalie in Minnesota when healthy and top-15 in the NHL this season.

Josh Harding re-injured his hip on Thursday and did not return.
Harding made what could be the save of the year on the Oilers Jean-Francois Jacques, but hurt his hip in the process. He looks like he will be out at least until after the Olympic break and with Niklas Backstrom currently out with back problems, Anton Khudobin and Wade Dubielewicz will have to hold down the fort. Harding will meet with doctors today. Stay tuned.

Anton Khudobin stopped all nine Oilers' shots he faced in Minnesota's 4-2 win Thursday night.
Anton Khudobin earned his first career NHL win in relief of Josh Harding, when Harding left the game after aggravating a nagging hip injury. Khudobin was called on to serve as the Minnesota backup while Niklas Backstrom is out with a back injury.

Niklas Backstrom has been placed on the injury reserve list due to an illness.
Backstrom hasn't played since January 23rd so he's eligible to be activated at any time. However, he will not serve as Minnesota's starting goaltender or backup on Thursday. Consider him day-to-day for now.
